In this episode of Real American Beauty, directed by Liza Mandelup, we journey to the pastel-coloured boom town that is Miami. Uncovering another side to this palm-fringed vacationland, we visit a barbershop where the rising stars of the boxing world come to get their hair done, and meet the young Cuban-Americans whose parents came to the US in hopes of living the American Dream. But for these guys, who dream of becoming world champion boxers, it doesn’t matter if you’re king of the ring; if you don’t look sharp upon entering you’ve lost before the game has even begun. Theirs, like Miami itself, is a story of self-renewal; one that could happen only in America. Meet the victors of tomorrow.
